MAINE DAY is Saturday, October 3rd at Lyons Lake, RAIN or SHINE, and its not too late to put a reservation in for lobster or prime rib dinners! We would like a FINAL count by this THURSDAY, but we should also have enough for walkups......
We open at 1 pm with burgers, veggie burgers, hot dogs, chowder being cooked outside (prices are a la carte). There will also be some or our regular menu items offered, too, inside the restaurant.
The dinner buffet will begin at 5:30 pm and end around 8:30 pm. Prices for the dinner buffet are $19.95 for lobster or prime rib and $28.95 for twin lobster or surf and turf. Pasta primavera is offered too as a vegetarian option. The buffet includes choice of baked potato or roasted red potatoes, broccoli and carrots and salad bar. The lobster is FRESH from the Maine ocean courtesy of our friend Mike! Even if you don't like lobster, the trip to Lyons Lake will be worth it just to meet Mike, the Lobsterman!
For the CHOWDER COOKOFF and CARROT CAKE BAKEOFF: Entries need to arrive between 2:30 and 3 pm, so that they can be properly tagged and then sampled by our judges. The Chowder winner will be announced at 4 PM and the Carrot Cake winner will be announced at approximately 4:45 pm. The fee to enter either contest is $10 with $100 grand prize to each winner of each contest. The chowders will be available for sampling once the judging is complete, and the carrot cakes will be made available for sampling after dinner.
The Blind Rowboat races will take place beginning at 3:30 pm and end at 5 PM. Hopefully the weather that is being predicted will hold off during our races! Teams consist of two people, one who is blindfolded and is the "rower" and the other person, who is not blindfolded, guides the rower to a bouy set out away from the shore, around the bouy and back to shore. First team in is the winner of that heat (there will be two to three teams per heat) Then the heat winners compete until we narrow it down to two teams who then compete in the final for the coveted Lyons Lake Blind Rowboat Race Trophy. Sign up to participate will begin at 2:30 pm. All participants for the rowboat race must be 18 or older.
And Finally.... the Music: We have the SALLY MAC Band playing inside the dance hall from 4 pm to 7:30ish....great trio playing classic rock tunes with great harmonies includings female vocals........ |
Saturday 10/25 is our Halloween bash, "ZOMBIE PROM". The party starts at 7 and ends ??? Admission is $10 and includes a delicious buffet and music by DJ Bob. LOTS of drink specials too...
There will also be karaoke so you can croon till your heart 's content!
This is your chance to be a STAR!!!
Also, part of our door proceeds that night will be donated to our friend Courtney Lubunsky who is battling breast cancer. So hopefully you'll come dressed in your old PROM ATTIRE and totally ZOMBIED out! There are prizes for Best Overall Costume, Most Creative Costume, Funniest Costume, and more......! |
